Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters


The Division of Medical Genetics and Metabolism at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and highly organized BC/BE genetic counselor to join our team of two GC’s, a metabolic dietician, and one geneticist. This is an expanding Medical Genetics practice based out of  a free standing, academic children’s hospital. Our current activities include dysmorphology evaluations, diagnosis and treatment of metabolic and storage disorders, newborn screening coordination, and craniofacial disorders. Opportunities include counseling, patient care coordination and management, teaching at Eastern Virginia Medical School, participating in clinical research, and expanding the program to provide more multi-disciplinary clinics and support groups. Travel to satellite clinics may be required. The Norfolk/Virginia Beach area provides a beautiful environment, great weather, and lots of opportunity for recreation.

Eastern Virginia Medical School

The Center for Advanced Fetal Therapy with Eastern Virginia Medical School is seeking a FULL-TIME prenatal genetic counselor to join a busy practice of 4 other genetic counselors, 7 perinatologists, and 3 maternal-fetal medicine fellows. Our center provides prenatal and preconception genetic counseling in three different locations within the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. This position is based primarily in our Newport News office with some limited travel to the Norfolk and Virginia Beach offices. The genetic counselors at Eastern Virginia Medical School provide care for patients related to advanced maternal age, abnormal screening tests, a vast array of ultrasound abnormalities, complex family histories of inherited genetic disorders and teratogen counseling.  The Center for Advanced Fetal Therapy strives to be on the cutting edge of technology, offering first trimester screening options, NIPT, universal carrier screening, amniocentesis, CVS and genetic testing for complex genetic disorders based on family history. We are seeking an energetic board certified or board eligible genetic counselor to work with our team.

All candidates must have received a Master’s Degree from an accredited genetic counseling program and be ABGC board eligible or board certified.  Previous prenatal genetic counseling experienced is preferred, but not required.
